During the course at least 60 cases of benign and malignant gastrointestinal tumors as well as inflammatory conditions of the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, and colorectum will be presented.
The course is limited to lesions of the tubular gastrointestinal tract. Lymphomas and lesions of the pancreatico-biliary tract and liver will not be addressed. Both common and rare conditions will be presented and set into a clinical context. On each day, at least 20 cases will be extensively discussed by an interactive approach. Particular attention will be paid to diagnostic criteria and differential diagnoses.
The value and limitations of immunohistochemistry will be critically discussed. A comprehensive review and update on histopathology will be provided.
The new WHO classification of GI tumors: pros and cons will be discussed. The participants will have the opportunity to review the digitized cases (virtual
