The course is designed for general surgical pathologists and pathologists in training, interested in soft tissue pathology. The aim of the course is to provide a comprehensive review and update of selected topics in soft tissue pathology. The lectures will focus on soft tissue tumors using a pattern based approach.
The use of immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology techniques essential for diagnosis will be discussed. News and changes of the upcoming WHO classifi- cation will be addressed. In addition, the clinical aspects will be discussed by providing insights in the surgical and medical treatments of soft tissue tumors.
The participants will have the opportunity to review approximately 50 digitalized cases (virtual microscopy) four weeks prior to the course. During the course, the cases will be extensively discussed by an interactive approach.
